Ames Public Library has begun the process of planning for an expansion and renovation project. The goal of the project is to create a comfortable, flexible, and efficient space for Ames to learn, imagine, gather, and share in the 21st Century.
On November 8, 2011, the voters of Ames passed a $18 million bond referendum for the Library Renewal Project. Fundraising through donations and grants will add at least $2 million
Library staff are now entering into the design phase of the project, with groundbreaking expected around fall of 2012.
