George Galen Tilden bought out his partners, D. A. Bigelow and H. C. Huntington (Bigelow, Huntington & Tilden) in 1883. This photograph was probably taken soon thereafter. This clothing/grocery store was located near the Douglas Avenue corner of Onondaga (Main) Street. The grocery department was on the first floor; clothing was sold on the second floor. Later the grocery operation would be moved around the corner onto Douglas. The man on the left in the doorway is George Tilden; the other two men are unidentified.
