1963 aerial over the Iowa State University campus, looking westward from the Beach Avenue intersection with Lincoln Way during the time when this part of Lincoln Way was being widened to four lanes. The widening process can be seen in progress--beyond the old football stadium (at Clyde Williams Field) the street is still two lanes. The football stadium, which was in use through the 1974 season, was razed in 1978. (See also: 182.1027.1-2)
